Aims and goals of the Coalitions:

  • Unite various private and corporate factors of each country (citizens, NGOs, commercial entities, governmental bodies) to aid the peoples and countries that had selected the democratic way of development of their own free will and chose to join the Euro-American identity and civilization model;

Andrei Adamovsky. Security of the Jewish Community of Ukraine

Speech of the Vice President of the World Jewish Congress, co-President of the Association of Jewish Communities and Organizations (Vaad) Ukraine Andrei Adamovsky

Joint Statement of the Ukrainian World Congress, The World Congress of the Crimean Tatars and the Association of Jewish Organizations and Communities of Ukraine on the first anniversary of the forceful annexation of Crimea by the Russian Federation

The Ukrainian World Congress, The World Congress of the Crimean Tatars, and the Association of Jewish Organizations and Communites of Ukraine resolutely condemn the annexation of Crimea by the Russian Federation and its aggressive acts against Ukraine which are a direct threat not only to Ukraine, but to peace and stability in Europe

Speech of Josef Zissels at parliamentary hearings titled “Role, Meaning, and Influence of Civil Society on the Creation of the Ethno-National Policy of Unity in Ukraine” Kyiv, 11.03.2015

So how can we, Ukraine’s ethnic communities, help Ukraine?

I am talking about us – about the leaders of ethnic communities. How can we and our communities help Ukraine?  And I can propose at least one direction that we can work in. Our ethnic minorities have their historical homelands and our global and international diasporas. These represent a wealth of potential aid that we can – and must – tap.

J. Zissels: It is important for me to live in a country where each year it becomes more and more clear that today’s citizens of Ukraine are mostly descendants of those righteous Ukrainians rather than of executioners

I am officially stating that author Will Stewart and the editors of MailOnline deceived their readers by attributing to me, without any grounds, the phrase about the ethnicity of the killers of the Jews in the context of the story of mass killing of the Jews in Western Ukraine. I have never, under any circumstances, made any statements to this effect. Neither have I made any other statements that could be interpreted this way in connection with the Ukrainian tragedy. I urge MailOnline to stop quoting the statements ascribed to me in this article and to never appeal to them in any public form.

EAJC Statement on Provocative Speeches of Alexander Zakharchenko and Igor Plotnitsky

The Euro-Asian Jewish Congress is deeply outraged by the provocative anti-Semitism statements made by Alexander Zakharchenko and Igor Plotnitsky, heads of the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics, at a press conference on February 2.

Ten thousand in Australia rally in support of Israel

Israel supporters rally in Australia
Ten thousand Australians rallied in support of Israel in Sydney on Sunday at a peaceful demonstration in one of the city’s suburbs. Participants at the rally waved signs saying “We stand with Israel!” and “Stop the rockets!” and chanted “Am Yisroel Chai”as they heard communal figures defend the Jewish State.

Ukrainian Jews Protest Statements by Russian MFA

The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Mikhail Bogdanov has attempted to find support among Russian Jewish organizations, claiming that Ukrainian Jews need the kind of support mentioned above. However, a resolution has been adopted at the session of the World Jewish Congress Executive Committee that took place two weeks ago in Paris, which read: “The WJC Executive Committee [...] recognizes the new Ukrainian government’s assurances and actions, that Jews and Jewish life in Ukraine will be protected,” and “urges all governments, media and non-governmental organizations and their representatives not to cause this complex situation to deteriorate by making unfounded accusations, or giving exaggerated accounts, of the situation of the Ukrainian Jewish population.” Representatives of Jewish communities around the world voted for this resolution, including the Russian delegation.

Ukrainian Jews Celebrate Passover Amid Crisis

Jews around the world are celebrating the beginning of Passover tonight. The holiday commemorates the exodus from slavery into freedom. For Jews in Ukraine, the holiday has an especially powerful meaning this year, coming on the heels of a secular revolution. NPR’s Ari Shapiro reports for Here & Now from Donetsk

To the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin on behalf of the multi-national people of Ukraine, Ukraine's national minorities, and on behalf of the Jewish community

You have stated that Russia wants to protect the rights of the Russian-speaking citizens of the Crimea and all of Ukraine and that these rights have been flouted by the current Ukrainian government. Historically, Ukrainian Jews are also mostly Russian-speaking. Thus, our opinion on what is happening carries no less weight than the opinion of those who advise and inform you.

Ukrainian Jews have written a letter accusing Russian President Vladimir Putin

Josef Zisels, chairman of the Association of Jewish Communities and Organizations of Ukraine (VAAD), and several other prominent Ukrainian Jews have written a letter accusing Russian President Vladimir Putin of exaggerating the plight of Russian-speaking citizens (including Jews) under the newly established Ukrainian government, as well as exaggerating the need to protect those citizens as an excuse for an armed incursion into Crimea.

NCSJ: Statement about situation in Ukraine

The situation in Ukraine today turned dire as Russian lawmakers unanimously approved a request by Russian President Vladimir Putin to send armed forces to Ukraine.
There are reports that Russian military forces are already in Crimea, and more are on their way to Ukraine.

Dr. Zeev Hanin: Ukraine: Opposites come together

News outlets worldwide and in Israel have painted the Ukrainian crisis as a classic conflict between the Ukrainian west and Russian east, between the rural population in the central and western parts of Ukraine and the city dwellers in the east, between those seeking to integrate with the European Union and the "easterners" who want to return to Mother Russia, and, of course, between Russian President Vladimir Putin, who seeks to build a new Soviet Union, and Europe, which has begun to look eastward.

NCSJ strongly condemns the most recent violent attacks against protestors in Kyiv, Ukraine

In the last 36 hours, police and irregular pro-government forces have begun a brutal crackdown on protestors at the barricades of Maidan and surrounding buildings. Over 25 people have been killed, and hundreds more seriously injured.
NCSJ has called on the Ukrainian government to immediately stop this violence and engage in constructive, non-violent dialogue with the opposition.

Alexander Roitburd: If we don't win, Ukraine will leave the civilization's realm altogether

Up until recently, artist Alexander Roitburd has continually been on Maidan. He is one of the first well-known and influential people who supported EuroMaidan and did it publicly.

On November 21st, Roitburd wrote on his Facebook, "Well, here's what. I understand that not much can be done about what happened, but I'm getting a cab and going to Maidan. So that I could look myself in the eye with clear conscience when I'm looking in the mirror. Whoever wants to see me – come by. Maybe things can still be remedied."

Yuri Leiderman. An Open Letter on the Ukrainian Revolution in the Russian Language

As a Jew, I am simply embarrassed when a certain Mr. Kernes allows himself to direct openly insulting remarks at Ukraine's history and at the residents of particular regions which he "doesn't like". By that, I think, he is spitting in all of our faces.

An Open Letter

'It was worth living in this country to experience Maidan'

Wearing a kasket cap instead of a kippah in public is a typical Jewish look – this young man could pass as a teacher of national-religious yeshiva, and yet – he is one of the key people in a complex defense system of Maidan and the barricades on Hrushevskoho Street. For understandable reasons, he has asked to remain anonymous in the interview, but remained candid in all other aspects.

Anti-Semitism on EuroMaidan: Not seen, just heard about

Overt attempts to use anti-Semitism as a propaganda weapon against the EuroMaidan movement have run up against two major hurdles: the facts and a large number of authoritative analysts, historians and human rights activists determined to prevent Ukrainians and the international community from being misled. Given a chilling warning from the most authoritative researcher on anti-Semitism in Ukraine, Viacheslav Likhachev that purported anti-Semitism could be used to silence outrage if force is used against the EuroMaidan movement, the need to set the record straight cannot be overstated.

Andreas Umland: Kyiv’s euromaidan is a liberationist and not extremist mass action of civic disobedience

Collective statement by experts on Ukrainian nationalism on the role of far right groups in Ukraine’s protest movement, and a warning about the Russian imperialism-serving effects of some supposedly anti-fascist media reports from Kyiv

We are a group of researchers who comprise specialists in the field of Ukrainian nationalism studies, and most of the world’s few experts on the post-Soviet Ukrainian radical right. Some of us publish regularly in peer-reviewed journals and with academic presses. Others do their research within governmental and non-governmental organizations specializing on the monitoring of xenophobia in Ukraine.

Dr. Vladimir Melamed: We can say, in the time of trials the Jews are on the side of free and democratic Ukraine

Ukrainians like Jews want to live in the country of their own where they can freely speak Ukrainian language, where they can make a European choice and ultimately in the country that will no longer be under the Russian dictate.
