The Euro-Asian Jewish Congress Statement due to the terrorist`s destruction of Malaysian airliner in eastern Ukraine
The Euro-Asian Jewish Congress with pain and profound indignation learned about the barbaric terrorist attack that led to the deaths of nearly 300 people, mostly – the citizens of the Netherlands, and 80 of them – children. In the sky above the Donetsk region of Ukraine terrorists, as far as it is known today, shot down a civilian airliner flying from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur. All passengers on the board, and the crew members had perished.
We express our support to the peoples and governments of the Netherlands, Australia, Malaysia, Indonesia and other countries whose citizens have died and our deepest condolences to the families and friends of the victims.
Terror has no nationality and does not recognize state borders. Terror cannot be justified and should not have any political perspectives. Terror is an ominous threat to the world order and a challenge to all humanity.
We call upon governments and public forces of all countries to unite in opposition to terror and to take all necessary that it does not find a place on our planet. We expect from the European Union and the international community an effective measures in objective investigation of the terrorist attack and bringing the masterminds and perpetrators of atrocities in the Donetsk region of Ukraine accountable to the full extent of the law.
