PROGRAM 'CHARITY' The program is created
in 1992. By December, 1995 the program worked already in 33 cities of
Ukraine and served 1238 requiring in patronage help. Various kinds of
the program's humanitarian help (products, clothes, medicines, money)
were distributed within working services of the program. Help was given
by "JDC" (about 50 thousand in 1995), "Thia" and other
religious organizations. However, fast "aging" of the Jewish
community predetermined necessity of the increasing expansion of the system
of social help rendering to the demanding members of Jewish community
and large financial injections in this sphere. Since 1996 the centers
of "Mercy" system in 48 cities of Ukraine were transferred to
JDC and the branches of "Hesed" system were created on their
base.
